Is there a burn ban in Jack County?
Burn bans in Texas are set county by county. The Jack County Commissioners Court can put one in place when conditions are dry, and it can change quickly. Check the county's current status before lighting a pile, and follow TCEQ outdoor burning rules even when there is no ban. If burning is off the table, we can mulch in place or haul off instead.
There are pipelines and old well sites on my land. Can you still clear it?
Usually, yes, but plan around them. Call 811 before any digging or root work so buried lines get marked, and point out any pipeline markers, old pads or flowlines when we walk the property. Rooting mesquite is digging, so this matters for grubbing, not just trenching.
Can you leave the oaks and just take out the mesquite and cedar?
Yes. Selective clearing is common around Bryson. Mark the trees you want kept and we work around them. It takes longer than clearing everything, so it can move the price up within the range.
Should I mulch or root mesquite?
